To promote the breakthrough development of discipline construction and talent cultivation in the Division of Arts, and to fully utilize the psychological education function of art disciplines, the Division of Arts established the Art Therapy Center based on the existing multiple art therapy studios. This initiative follows the requirements of the """"Shenzhen University Student Mental Health Education Work Plan"""" issued in September 2021. The Art Therapy Center aims to optimize students' psychological quality, strengthen positive emotions and healthy mindsets, and provide front-line psychological therapy services to students and special groups in society in an engaging and appealing manner.

The center comprises nine studios: Drama Therapy Studio, Dance Movement Therapy Studio, Music Therapy Studio, Art Therapy Studio, Design Therapy Studio, Language Therapy Studio, Visual Therapy Studio, Traditional Chinese Opera Therapy Studio, and Integrated Arts Therapy Studio. Within the framework of these nine studios, the center organizes interdisciplinary faculty, introduces relevant social resources, conducts project research, develops a series of art therapy courses, establishes an art therapy theater, and carries out social service activities. The goal is to create a distinctive art therapy platform in South China.
