Delegation from RMIT University Visits Division of Arts, SZU

On May 20, 2025, a seven-member delegation from RMIT University paid a visit to Shenzhen University (SZU). The delegation was led by Professor Tim Marshall, Deputy Vice-Chancellor of RMIT and Pro Vice-Chancellor of the College of Design and Social Context. Its members included Professor Andrea Siodmok, Dean of the School of Design; Professor Lisa French, Dean of the School of Media and Communication; Professor Kit Wise, Dean of the School of Art; Mr. Nick Scarborough, Deputy Director of International Relations; Ms. Grace Dong, International Relations Consultant; and Mr. Sherman Xia, Senior Consultant.In the morning, accompanied by Yang Chenxiao from the Division of Arts of SZU and Zhang Yang from the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange, the RMIT delegation visited the Shenzhen headquarters of ByteDance for exchange activities. Both sides conducted in-depth discussions on topics such as the development trends of the digital creative industry and the connection between enterprise talent needs and university talent cultivation. This visit not only enabled the RMIT delegation to gain an in-depth understanding of the latest development trends of China's digital creative industry, but also opened up new ideas for cooperation between the Division of Arts of SZU and RMIT in cultivating innovative art and design talents.

In the afternoon, the RMIT delegation visited the College of Fine Arts and Design of Shenzhen University and held a discussion forum with the college’s leaders and faculty representatives.Present at the forum were Professor Wang Fangliang, Dean of the College of Fine Arts and Design under the Division of Arts; Associate Professor Xu Hui, Vice Dean; Dr. Fu Fang, faculty representative; and Zhang Yang from the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange. During the forum, the participants introduced the disciplinary development, school-running features, teaching achievements, and international exchange and cooperation progress of the Division of Arts, and expressed their expectation for in-depth collaboration with RMIT.
