1. Training Objectives:

1. Strive to study Marxism-Leninism, Mao Zedong Thought, Deng Xiaoping Theory, and the important ideas of the "Three Represents", becoming a morally upright, idealistic, cultured, and disciplined younger generation; capable of applying Marxist viewpoints and methods to analyze and solve problems; supporting the Party's basic line, principles, and policies; loving the motherland, obeying laws and regulations, maintaining good conduct, having solid professional ethics, and actively contributing to the socialist construction of our country.

2. Master one foreign language, use it to read professional books and journals, and be able to write paper abstracts. Master a solid theoretical foundation, systematic professional knowledge, and necessary practical skills in the discipline; possess the ability to conduct independent scientific research, art teaching, or practical work in the art industry, as well as cultural industry management; understand the development status and trends of the discipline, and be practical, rigorous, and realistic.

3. In line with the basic requirements for degree holders, the art discipline aims to cultivate professionals with good moral character and well-rounded artistic academic research, along with broad foundational theoretical knowledge. They should keep pace with the times and actively engage in the practical research of China's current cultural development and prosperity. Through the implementation of the training program, graduate students in this field should master scientific research methods and have strong independent work and scientific innovation capabilities.

4. Relying on the practical experience in Shenzhen's cultural industry, the program aims to train applied, interdisciplinary talents in the fields of art and cultural management, inheritance, and innovation. Through systematic theoretical learning, method training, and practical exercises, students will develop good humanistic and artistic qualities, solid theoretical knowledge, and high academic accomplishments. They will be familiar with domestic and international cultural policies and laws, possess a broad international perspective, a keen professional sense, and strong practical abilities. Upon graduation, students will be capable of working in cultural and artistic management departments, cultural and artistic enterprises, industry organizations, or higher education institutions in roles such as management, planning, marketing, investment, and research.

II. Discipline Directions:

1. Art Theory

The primary research areas are fundamental art theory and cultural innovation in the arts. Positioned at the cutting edge of art theory research, this direction focuses on global practices of cultural innovation, with art theory as the “foundation” and cultural innovation as the “application,” creating a distinctive approach where theoretical research and practical experience mutually reinforce each other. A key strength lies in its concentrated disciplinary focus. The academic leader has published numerous original works in art theory, and the core academic team has achieved fruitful results, providing essential theoretical guidance and support for the development of art and cultural innovation.

2. Art History

The main research areas include art history, traditional arts preservation, and revitalization. This focuses on Chinese art history, particularly on the creative transformation and innovative development of traditional Chinese culture. It emphasizes studying theoretical and practical issues in the inheritance and development of traditional arts within contemporary contexts. Research in Hakka culture, Lingnan arts, and related intangible cultural heritage preservation and revitalization is particularly strong in this field.

3. Art Management

The primary research areas include art management theory and emerging cultural industries. This field is rooted in foundational theoretical research in art management and emphasizes the distinctive integration of science and cultural creativity in empowering the arts sector, art industry, art markets, and art organizations. By leveraging Shenzhen's developed cultural industry, this field focuses on an interdisciplinary approach that integrates art studies, management, and cultural studies to produce systematic and forward-looking results. These efforts strongly support the development of emerging cultural industries and the training of multidisciplinary art management professionals.

4. Fine Arts and Calligraphy Research

The main research areas include printmaking and digital image applications, the artistic language and creation of oil painting, Chinese painting creation, and the theory and practice of calligraphy. This direction is based in Shenzhen, a Special Economic Zone, and aims to promote international exchange and cooperation. It emphasizes both academic and professional development, strengthens fundamental theory and professional quality education, and implements a plan to closely integrate creation, teaching, and research, ensuring the effective expansion of training methods and teaching models. This direction actively trains educators in basic fine arts and calligraphy education or higher education in fine arts and calligraphy, as well as artistic creators in art institutions. Graduates are expected to become key members of teaching teams in fine arts and calligraphy education and actively contribute to the development of fine arts and calligraphy in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area.

5. Music and Dance Studies

The main research field is music and dance, with the aim of conducting high-level academic exploration and theoretical research on the essence of music and dance arts. Through cultivating students' solid foundational theory and systematic professional knowledge, they will master research methods for studying the essence of music and dance arts as well as artistic phenomena. The goal is for students to develop high-level artistic thinking and intellectual concepts in the process of artistic creation, with innovative, pioneering, and contemporary research capabilities in the arts.

6. Drama and Film Studies

The main research fields include theater and film performance studies, language communication and broadcasting arts studies, and theater and traditional Chinese opera studies. With a focus on the development and construction of the "dual zone" in theater and film, the research emphasizes addressing major theoretical issues in theater and film studies, striving to build a cultural industry chain for theater and film, and cultivating high-quality, multidisciplinary talents in theater and film who are capable of adapting to the development of urban theater and film in the new era. Research has been developed in areas such as late Qing opera, modern Chinese drama, and other distinct areas in theater and opera studies. The research also pays attention to local theater theories, drama therapy, and other aspects of theater and film performance. Noteworthy achievements have been made in the fields of integrated media language communication and language culture studies. The aim is to cultivate innovative, interdisciplinary theater and film talents who can adapt to the new liberal arts era and the development of information society.
